What is Ring pour technique?
This technique uses the acrylic colors prepared as for dirty cup or clean cup technique. The difference consists in the way you pour the paint on the canvas. In this technique you pour the paint in rings.
What do you need?
- 1 canvas
- 1 base color that will be mixed 1 part paint, 2 parts floetrol, water till you obtain the desired consistency, that should be like honey
- colors for the rings
- cups (one cup for each color)
- pads (one pad for each color)
- silicone oil
- 1 heat gun
How to proceed?
- Prepare the canvas (cover the back margins with paper scotch, use tacks to avoid the canvas to take contact with the table)
- Prepare the base paint
- Prepare each color separately (1 part paint, 2 parts floetrol, water till the desired consistency)
- Add 3-4 silicone oil drops in each color
- In a bigger cup, layer one by one the colors you've prepared
- Cover the entire canvas with the base paint, together with the side margins
- Take the bigger cup and start pouring slowly by creating circles in the air, in one direction
- The effect can differ by pouring larger circles and also by changing the direction whilst you are pouring.
- After you finished your cup, start tilting in circles the canvas, but carefully not to destroy the created lines
Enjoy and have fun!
